Let me paint you a picture: the two of you arrive when the world is still asleep. The stars are out, and your walk is lit solely by moonlight. You take a deep breath–smelling the scents of the great outdoors and feeling the chilly yet peaceful breeze.

The Two of You

It is just you and your loved one (and me with my camera...hehe). There is no one else around you. You sit together on a rock and take in the calmness that surrounds you. You meditate upon your relationship and the moment you are about to enter.

As the sun begins to rise, the sky starts to change colors from pitch black, to dark blue, to lighter blue, to purple until finally the sun starts shining with a beautiful golden glow. It’s serene, it's peaceful, it's perfect and guess what?

It’s YOUR elopement day.

The Yosemite Sunrise

Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park is known for its sunrises. Don’t believe me? If you need proof, just keep scrolling through this sunrise adventurous elopement at Glacier Point in Yosemite! I might be biased from catching all that beauty from behind my lens, but I am pretty sure that Kim and Caleb had the most amazing sunrise of their lives.

The day started with stillness and intentionally, and as the sun started to rise and this couple both physically and emotionally warmed up a bit, all of their love and personality came pouring out!

The Beautiful Unpredictability of an Elopement

And to think we almost didn’t make it. Yosemite had been closed due to wildfires all the way up to just a few days before their elopement. Literally, as we were wrapping up their day the smoke started rolling in due to a shift in the wind.

Scroll down to the last pic and you will see such a difference between smoke-free and smoke-filled shots! It was crazy to behold how fast the air changed and how easily their day could have turned out so differently.

But, that is the very essence of what makes it an adventurous elopement: the unpredictability of nature, the prioritization of the moment between a couple, and the timeless photos their elopement day produces.
